Australian ALIVE RADIO relies on AEQ technology for outdoor events 10/07/2024
Radio Alive is a community radio station based in Baulkham Hills, from where it serves the Hills District and parts of Greater Western Sydney. Founded in 1992, it has been broadcasting since its inception on 90.5 MHz FM and currently also on its website. The station's programming features a predominantly contemporary music and community information format, including public assistance sections.
Radio Alive 90.5FM is a traditional customer of AEQ technology and already has its main broadcast studio with an AEQ CAPITOL IP digital console. Now it renews its confidence in the brand's technology by betting on an outdoor work kit manufactured by AEQ's local partner in the country, Broadcast Components, which has the ALIO audio codec as the centerpiece of the system.
Radio Alive is a radio station that aims to be very close to the events of their community, and this new outdoor kit allows them to bring the realization of their programs physically to the audience, as it offers the possibility to perform many of the contents from anywhere in the city: parks, hotels or restaurants, with a professional audio quality and a negligible investment in communication lines.
AEQ ALIO is a portable IP audiocodec with dual stereo channels. It has been designed specifically for sports broadcasts, but has been optimized to make it easy to use in the most varied scenarios, including music events. Its design, compact, and resistant to pressure, shock, and even liquids, is optimized for outdoor use where the treatment can not always be sufficiently careful.
AEQ ALIO can connect to most manufacturers' base equipment via SIP communication protocol, according to EBU standard N ACIP Tech 3326. But if you connect with an AEQ codec you can use a unique set of tools to help you communicate and control the unit. In addition, with the AEQ ControlPhoenix Audiocodec Management Software you have full control of the unit and all its functions.
Chantelle from Broadcast Components was the person in charge of commissioning the system as well as training the staff at Radio Alive. So far the equipment has already been used on numerous occasions such as Run for the Hill, Mateship Fair or Hills Winter Sleep Out among others.
