CHILEAN “RADIO CORPORACION” BUILDS ITS DIGITAL FUTURE ON AEQ FORUM 21/05/2015
Radio Corporación is one of the most popular Chilean radio stations. With two licensed frequencies and a very rich programming consisting in a mix of general information, music, talk, entertainment for all age groups and proximity information.
The technical management of Radio Corporación, decided to renew its core infrastructure in Santiago de Chile. Current installations are mostly analog and the objective is to transition to completely digital formats. As a first step in this transition, Radio Corporación has re-furbished one of its studios with an AEQ FORUM, digital audio mixing console. The board, being the core of the studio-control installation, is a compact 12–fader version.
AEQ FORUM is a mixing console designed to control ON-AIR broadcasts. With all the features required for this type of production: automatic monitor mute, cough mute, fader-start, signaling control, all the necessary control signals to automate peripheral equipment, fully integrated digital telephone hybrids facilitating the call-in management, intercom, etc ...
FORUM has a reduced footprint and is modular with regards to Input and Output modules so it becomes a perfect fit for any imaginable scenario: auto-control, studio control, audio control in television, general audio production, mixed configurations and integration in large installations. Simplicity and control are features that are combined in AEQ FORUM and the console can cover anything from the most basic operational requirements to the most advanced ones. The console is available in versions of 4, 8 or 12 faders in its standard version but when more fader channels are required this can be satisfied with the GRAND FORUM Chassis, allowing to allocate up to 20 Faders.
AEQ FORUM also offers the possibility to grow both with analog and digital signals. The board counts on AoIP multi-channel connectivity using Audinate DANTETM technology and is compatible with AES67. This connectivity makes it easy for Radio Corporación to integrate this studio with, for example, its already existing IT infrastructure. AEQ FORUM handles 32 or 64 channels in these formats and satisfies Radio Corporación’s requirements to be able to easily integrate future equipment as this transition continues.
The entire project is being piloted by the chief engineer of Radio Corporación, Mr. Francisco Campos, in collaboration with the team from SERCOMSA, as AEQ’s local partner in Chile, and AEQ’s technical office in Madrid.
