RADIO CANTILLANA RENEWS THEIR MAIN CONTROL WITH AEQ-KROMA

“We wanted to choose the best option when acquiring our new mixing console”

RADIO CANTILLANA started to transmit back in 1984, and it was one of the first municipal radio stations to be licensed and assigned a fixed frequency in Andalucía. It was also one of the first ones taking part of the Association of Municipal Radio Stations in Andalucía (EMA) that groups the community stations in the south of Spain. The stations technical and administrative team is around 50 volunteers working completely altruistic.

Víctor Maqueda, technical manager at Radio Cantillana:

“We wanted to choose the best option when acquiring our new mixing console in Radio Cantillana. We were mainly seeking flexibility, in order to be able to adapt the equipment to different transitory broadcast requirements. We managed to do it using the new AEQ FORUM. Being completely digital, it is able to make configuration changes as input selection, output routing, dynamics and equalization in just a few seconds, without altering the broadcast. The console interface and its configuration software are also highly intuitive, making operation really simple.

We were especially surprised by the great audio quality of its phone hybrid, which is essential for a station like ours, having correspondents allover Spain. The console DSP, which performs dynamics and equalization processing for each input and output channel, also deserves special mention.

The availability of a compressor, limiter and noise gate for each input device connected to the console -let it be a microphone or CD player-, provides a higher degree of control over the final broadcast quality.

We are convinced that we made the right choice when we placed our bet on AEQ FORUM, a mixing console which more than covers our long-term expectations."
