Radio Island 92 relies on AEQ technology for local studios

The station has decided to trust AEQ again to renovate its studios with Forum IP Split and Capitol IP consoles

Island 92 is a radio station located in Sint Maarten in the Caribbean and belongs to the Caribbean Broadcasting Network, it is mainly focused on music and entertainment programmes.

The technical management of the company has decided to upgrade all its equipment to the digital environment, putting at the heart of the system: an AEQ Forum IP Split console for the ON-AIR studio and an AEQ Capitol IP console for the production studio.

AEQ FORUM IP SPLIT is a mixing console designed for ON-AIR broadcast control. It incorporates all the basic features necessary in this type of environment: automatic monitor cut, cough cut, faderstart, signalling control, control signals for the automation of external equipment, management of external communications, intercommunication, etc. With its modular design and small size, it adapts perfectly to different scenarios: self-control, control-locutory, television production controls, sound production, mixed configurations, integration in large installations, etc.

In CAPITOL IP the implementation of IP connectivity is based on a single module of 16 input and 16 output channels, incorporated in its core. One of the main qualities of AEQ CAPITOL IP is the wide input capacity available: 4 mic/line, 12 analogue, 4 digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3), 2 digital stereo USB, 2 optional telephone lines, and optional digital multichannel audio links; 16 AoIP channels over two ethernet connectors or 64 MADI channels input over optical fibre.

Eric Boyer, Chief Engineer, Caribe Broadcasting Network: "AEQ created a system that was able to meet all our needs and we are now fully digital and AoIP on the network.  Three years ago we started looking to upgrade our studios to digital. We needed a digital system while keeping a reasonable price and our automation systems the same."

The system is complemented by the Systel IP talk-show system and Netbox 32 AD MX interface for simultaneous transmission.
