Control Software

Control Phoenix
Control and configure your unit from your computer. All front-panel controls are available in the PC CONTROL PHOENIX app, which allows remote setup and operation of a fleet of audiocodecs.
Control all codecs on the network (local or remote) from one PC. An optional multicodec app can detect all AEQ IP audiocodecs on a local network and control them in a coordinated way from one PC or a group of PCs. It also enables control of remote units over the Internet for comprehensive network management.

General Overview
Audio presence indicators and remote VU meters can be displayed to make incoming and outgoing audio levels easier to monitor on each device, regardless of its location.
Includes an address book with copy functions, enabling a central directory plus individual directories for each codec.

Coding Modes
- AEQ recommends the OPUS algorithm with Fs = 48 kHz, mono or stereo, with 4 mono and 3 stereo modes, bitrates from 12 to 192 kbps and bandwidth from 6 to 20 kHz.
- For compatibility with fixed installations and corporate standards, MERCURY can use G711 Law A, Law µ, G722, AEQ-LD, MPEG 1 & 2 – LII, linear PCM and others on request.
Connection Tools
- To simplify unit operation, AEQ offers the Smart RTP automatic call setup mode.
- Additionally, it offers proprietary SIP server services at no extra cost to Phoenix VENUS 4 and VENUS 4+ users. Specifications are subject to change without notice.
- Optional SIP Relay service to facilitate audio transport through a relay server.
- Optional SMARTALK service that generates web links so PCs or mobile devices can instantly download an OPUS audiocodec from the cloud, which automatically connects to the audiocodec through a SIP server.
