HEDLAND COMMUNITY RADIO OF AUSTRALIA SELECTS AEQ CAPITOL MIXER

ULTRA-COMPACT DIGITAL AEQ AUDIO MIXER EQUIPS A RADIO STUDIO MANAGED ONLY BY VOLUNTEERS

Hedland Community Radio was founded in the year 2000 by a group of voluntary citizens of the city of Port Hedland located in a remote zone of Australia (1600km north of Perth), including today two radio studios and a small MCR.

After 12 years ONAIR, radio´s board of directors has decided to renew one of the studios to integrate the latest digital technology on the market, always taking care about radio staff (volunteer without any specific technical training but with a big passion for radio as Lachaln -14 years old- youngest talent in the station), their limited budget, and the distance between Port Hedland and the rest of big cities of the country what complicates any future technical assistance if it was necessary.

For all these factors, the logical decision was the ultra-compact audio console AEQ CAPITOL of 8faders, because with a low price it is a 100 % digital unit from an international very-well-known manufacturer, offers a very simple operation specifically designed for small radio stations radio as Hedland's, and a great hardiness integrating an universal redundant power supply, as well as the option of remote-setup over Internet for the first days of installation or advance maintenance tasks.

AEQ CAPITOL offers in a small size, four microphone inputs, 12 analogue line inputs, 4 AES3 digital inputs, 8 analogue outputs, 4 digital AES3 digital outputs, and two digital telephone hybrids built-in, and two USB I/O to connect to external automation systems, so customer doesn’t need to invest an extra dollar for any expensive professional audio board to install in their PCs.

The inauguration of the new digital radio studio took place in the past "Portbound Festival" of the city, and from AEQ we want to thank in these lines Hedland Radio team for choosing AEQ's technology for this significant event.

Complete project has been lead by the Hedland Radio director Ms Joan Foley, in collaboration with Mr Shane Pritchard CTO of WirelessComponent local partner of AEQ in Australia.
