Udhampur district in Indian Kashmir has recently inaugurated the new radio station of All India Radio working on 103.1MHz and online under the brand name of Jammu@Kashmir Radio. For such an important ceremony the Minister for Home Affairs Mr Jitendra Singh presided over the commissioning ceremony of the station.

The minister emphasised that Udhampur and its adjoining districts were home to diverse cultures and the radio station would play a key role in promoting folk art of the region. Many young talents would also get a chance to showcase their creativity and help channel their energy in a positive direction, he added.

All India Radio is India's public broadcaster, founded in 1926, with 420 stations across the country generating programmes in 23 languages and 179 different dialects, broadcast on FM, AM, satellite and online.

AIR's technical management has selected the AEQ FORUM IP digital audio console as the heart of the installation, for its simplicity of operation and robustness of maintenance.

AEQ FORUM IP equips AoIP multi-channel input and output cards with up to 64 input and output channels compatible with the new AES 67 protocol through DANTE™ technology.
